Strawberries!

So.. I now have a tripod. It was a gift from my boss. She had it in her basement for about 20 years, and thought I'd make better use of it. I'm pretty excited. Here's some early results with some strawberries we had at the office today..

The Fairmont Royal York

A few photos taken in the lobby of the Fairmont Royal York, Toronto. It was 12:30am, and I had just left Piper's Pub, in the basement. You can see the time on the clock in the lobby.. the last two are over the pool table in the pub.

Here's some photos I took in Dundas Square yesterday. They had the fountains cranked so that the jets were coming up about 9 feet about ground. I had to wait for the sun to come out from behind some clouds. The first two are on a lower shutter speed. Enjoy..

So.. I realized today how much I have to learn about photography! That being said, I'm having a blast playing with all the settings on my D80. Here's some experiments from the fountain in the Eaton Centre..

Well, the weather has turned not-so-subtly into "winter" mode.. a far cry from the nice autumn weather of last week. Still tinkering with my new D80, here's some pics from a trip to the grocery store yesterday..

Two Years Later..

It's only 2 1/2 years after registering "jimwilson.blogspot.com", and I've decided to finally put some content up here. I figured this blog would generally attract friends of mine, as well as some of the other "Jim Wilsons" out there (of which there are many, I know). I just bought a Nikon D80 camera, so I've decided to put up some of my photos. The first batch is of Dundas Square in Toronto, right next to where I work. Hope you enjoy...
